GradesUp is thrilled to invite Teachers of English to a fun-filled Contest for creating MCQs! Come up with interesting Class-based, Curriculum aligned MCQs in English with the correct Answers identified, and win exciting prizes. Are you ready to embark upon the Quest for Excellence?
Please read all Instructions, Terms and Conditions carefully.

  1. Eligibility
    • The competition is open exclusively for participation by Teachers from Schools in Kolkata and adjoining areas (‘Participants are the individual Teachers nominated by the School’).
    • Participants must select their appropriate Category: A (Classes I to IV), B (Classes V to VII), C (Classes VIII to X) or D (Classes XI & XII).
  2. Format
    • Each Participant will need to create 2 (two) sets of 30 (thirty) Multiple-Choice Questions (‘MCQs’) related to English Language.
    • Participants will need to create a set of MCQs within a specified time limit.
  3. Question Types
    • MCQs will comprise of Questions with a single correct Answer.
    • MCQs may evaluate conceptual understanding & practical applications of different aspects of English Language.
  4. Scoring
    • MCQs created by the Participants will be awarded Points by the Evaluation Panel.
  5. Competition Rounds
    • The competition will involve creating MCQs related to English Language.
    • Participants must also answer the Tie breaker Questions for the Evaluation Panel to judge.

  • Each School to send 4 Teachers as Participants, covering 4 Categories based on Classes.
  • Every School should compete in all 4 Categories as follows:
    1. Category A – Classes I – IV
    2. Category B – Classes V – VII
    3. Category C – Classes VIII – X
    4. Category D – Classes XI & XII
  • Each Teacher has to select one Category and any two Classes from that particular Category.
  • Teachers are required to create 60 Questions in English in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format – 30 for each Class within the chosen Category.
  • The Competition starts from 1st April 2024 and ends on 30th June 2024
  • Once the Questions with the Answers are submitted, they will be evaluated by our Special Panel of Eminent Academicians and Subject Experts and awarded Points.
  • Please submit your entries only from a Desktop or Laptop. Once you finish each Question, enter the Answer in the form of the correct option. For example, if the Answer is Option B from A, B, C and D, simply input B and repeat till you are done with all Questions.
  • Two Tie breaker Questions have to be answered by every Teacher – one Question is compulsory without any choice, while the other can be chosen from a list of Topics related to Education.
  • Please re-check all Questions and Answers before submitting – once you hit “Submit”, it is accepted as the final entry, and no revisions will be permitted. Kindly check your registered email for the Acknowledgement Message.
  • Questions have to be created and submitted before the respective deadlines – no submissions will be accepted after 30th June, 2024.
  • Every Participant will be awarded a Digital Certificate of Appreciation.
  • Winners and Runners-up would be announced for each Category – all Prizes, Certificates and Mementos will be distributed once the Competition ends. Winners and Runners-up receive a Special Governor’s Award, Cash Prize, Citation and Certificate.
  • A Glittering, Gala Awards Ceremony graced by the Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal awaits the Winners and the Winning School Heads.

Please download the MCQ Template and follow the steps as mentioned below:

  • Open the downloaded Template.
  • In the space for the File Name, please enter your Mobile Number and your Full Name in the respective fields (<Mobile> - <Name>).
  • Create your MCQs, along with options for the Answer, in the space provided. Enter the correct option and move on to the next Question.
  • Answer the Tie breaker Question – the first is compulsory, while you can choose the second one from the list provided.
  • Save the same in PDF format and upload here. Please do not upload a scanned copy of the filled-in Template or any handwritten matter!

While submitting your Questions, please upload them by clicking on 'Add File'. The file size should not exceed 10MB.


Note:

  • Please create MCQs and answer Tie breaker Questions using only a Desktop or Laptop.
  • Please do not add any signature or any watermark in the document.
  • Please do not change the file name format. Enter the necessary details as mentioned in the respective places.
